Genesis Key Services
G70, G80, G90, GV70, GV80.

What to expect
Genesis key jobs vary by year and trim — older models often use a basic transponder chip while newer ones run proximity or push-to-start keyless systems. For luxury trims, OEM-grade blanks are non-negotiable; aftermarket fobs can damage your vehicle's body control module.
When you submit a request, we route it only to a partner equipped for your specific Genesis make — not to whichever locksmith answers first.
Typical services
- Lost-keys (no working key)
- Spare key cut + program
- Smart key replacement
- Key fob replacement
- Ignition repair
- Programming only (your blank)
Genesis key replacement at a glance
Genesis is Hyundai Motor Group's luxury division, launched standalone 2015. Lineup spans G70 sport sedan, G80 midsize, G90 flagship, GV70 midsize crossover, GV80 3-row crossover. Per Cox Automotive sales data, Genesis has grown steadily. The Genesis fleet uses Hyundai HITAG-AES SmartKey architecture across all models.
Typical 2026 pricing runs $325-$700 all-in. A 2020 G70 HITAG-AES spare runs $295-$385; a 2024 G90 Long Wheelbase HITAG-AES all-keys-lost runs $545-$700.
Genesis is a Hyundai-family job — same chip families, same tooling. The G90 offers a unique biometric key option (fingerprint reader on door handle and start button) but the physical key remains standard HITAG-AES SmartKey.
Why Genesis keys are different
Genesis inherits Hyundai immobilizer architecture wholesale — HITAG-AES SmartKey on every model. Genesis vehicles do NOT share the 2011-2021 immobilizer gap that affected mass-market Hyundai/Kia trims; every Genesis has shipped with a working immobilizer from launch.

The G90 biometric option uses fingerprint reader integrated into door handle and start button. Biometric is independent of physical SmartKey — losing physical key doesn't affect biometric enrollment. Aftermarket handles physical SmartKey programming; biometric enrollment is dealer-side.
The Electrified G80 and GV70 EVs share E-GMP platform with IONIQ family and Kia EV6/EV9.

Spare with working master: 30-50 min. All-keys-lost: 75-100 min. Memory pairing on G90/GV80 Prestige adds 15-20 min.
Industry insight
“Genesis is a really clean aftermarket job for the physical key piece — same Hyundai HITAG-AES playbook, no surprises. The G90 biometric is the only thing that ever needs the dealer, and only if the customer specifically wants biometric re-enrollment. Most Genesis customers don't even use the biometric feature.”
